August Madness

Oh my it has been a long time since I have blogged. I can't believe that time goes by to fast. There has been so much going on this August. Our little Elley turned one years old. She also had surgery on her mouth to correct her cleft palate. We went to Durango, Colorado for Kendal's Grandma and Grandpa Dalton's 50th wedding anniversary. We had a baby shower for Josie and she got lots of cute stuff. Kendal and I have just celebrated our seventh wedding anniversary. And, it was also the two year anniversary of Dalton's passing. I can't believe two years have come and gone. I don't feel like it has been two years, some days it feels like yesterday and some days it feels like he is still here. I sometimes think when Elley was born she brought some of him with her. She knows him I truely believe that. She kisses and giggles at his pictures when we walk by them. I know he watches her and I feel blessed that he does. So here is the mass of pictures for the month. I promise I will get better at blogging more often but this summer has been crazy.Kendal, Jasmin and my Dad went in to the Fairy Caves in Glennwood, Co. They saw lots of neat things and Ken got some cool pictures. The one above is called King Knog.

We all went on this awesome bike trail that followed the river from our camper park and into Glennwood. It was a lot of fun. We stopped by the water to take come pictures.

We had a baby shower for Josie and my Mom had bought all of the little girls matching shirts to go with the little sweet pea theme.
When we went to Durango, Co we all went down the alpine slides and I tried out the bungie tramp. It was really fun.

I had to put this picture in I thought it was so cute of Kyler. The kids had all been playing so hard at Elley's birthday party. It was such a good time.
Elley enjoying birhtday cake.
Here are both of her cakes I made the bubble gum cake and Denise made the princess cake. They turned out so cute. I can't believe my little girl is alreay one years old.

YellowStone National Park

So we took a trip to Yellowstone National Park this July. It was such a great time. We went clear to the top of Wyoming and into Montana making various stops along the way. Elley bug was such a good sport and very patient with all of the different activities that we experienced. The ride home a a little long but after many stops for ice cream we finally made it. I gave my pictures to Steph and she enhanced some of them so here are some of my favorites from the trip.

Camping

We went camping with our good friends and my little sister and her husband. We had such a good time. Poor little Elley was getting teeth and had a touch of a cold but she was a trooper. the weather was beautiful.
It was nice to have Josie and Derek with us. We are so excited to there little girl to arrive.
The Martinsen family also came. They are like family to us. I love their boys like they were my own and Steph is like my sister. We went on a trail ride altogether and the trail was a little rough but we made it. The kids love the fourwheelers.
Later that day it was really hot so Kendal decided to let the kids play in the igloo cooler. Like Steph said "the many uses of an igloo cooler". The kids had a ball. I think Kendal enjoyed it just as much as they did.
I love this picture. I love these boys and feel so lucky that Elley will grow up with them. They will be like brothers. They all love her and I know that she loves them. They have helped us though some really rough times so I want to thank them (We love you). Our trip was a blast I hope to have more trips like this.

July 4th Celebration

Our holiday was lots of fun. We went to the parade and the fireworks. Elley really enjoyed the parade. She would dance with the music and wave at the horses. I can't believe how big she is getting. We took her the the fireworks and to our surprise she really loved them. She laid between Kendal and I and held both of our hands. I thought she would be scared but she wasn't in the slightest.

My Granny and Aunt Tanya joined us for the parade. My cute niece Jasmin was in the parade with her dance class. So they came to watch.
I thought this was so cute. She had to sit on the curb all by herself like a big girl. She thinks she needs to grow up so fast.

The Big Fishing Trip

So the boys thought it was about time to have a fishing day. They traveled three hours and it was well worth the trip. They caught tons of fish and had a great time. Kendal caught the biggest one and he really was a monster for a brook trout. He was really pretty. Later the next day Kendal got the opportunity to get them all cleaned (I don't think he thought that was to fun). We even cooked some and they were really quit tasty.

The Month of May

So, our little Pat graduated. I can't believe that he is out of school. He seemed so proud and excited. We are all so proud of him and can't wait to see what life has in store for him now. Congratulations Uncle Pat.

We had a fun trip to Bridal Vale Falls this May. We rode our bikes from the beginning of the Provo Canyon and had us a really nice picnic and then traveled the rest of the way to see the falls. It was amazing. What a beautiful place. We are so lucky to get the opportunity to travel and see all of the neat wonders of our state. I love this picture of the dads and their girls.

Also we went to the Zoo. It was Elley's first trip and I am sure it will not be her last. We had a really fun time. She really fell in love with the monkeys and the bird show was amazing.
The dads had had enough at this point!!!
So had Elley. But it was such a fun time.

My Mother's Day

A lonely young male turkey decide he needed to picnic with us also. It was pretty cool he wasn't afraid in the slightest.

I hope that Mother's Day was as great for you as it was for me. Sunday was a really nice day at my Mom's and at the park with Kendal's family. Although Ken had to work it was nice to get together and appreciate all the Moms in our life. I had been telling Kendal for weeks that all I really wanted was to have a nice picnic with my babies. But I wanted him to plan in all and I just wanted to go along for the ride. And that is exactly what I received. He ordered Mexican takeout and we went for a picnic to our favorite place (the cemetery). It is so relaxing up there. We always feel so at peace and we were really excited that it is finally warm enough that we can take Elley. I have thought to myself many time lately how many Moms are out there that want to spend their day at the cemetery. When reality sets in I think there are more then I would ever like to count or could count. Although Mother's day is a great day for me it is also a very bittersweet day. Memories and heartache hits home. But I believe my Dalty has sent me many signs lately to let me know he is thinking of me just as much as I think of him. I am truly thankful that I can see, hear and smell the sweet memories of him. I miss him so much and wish he was here. But my Mother's day was wonderful (thanks Ken). Here are some fun pictures of our day.
