My Mother's Day

A lonely young male turkey decide he needed to picnic with us also. It was pretty cool he wasn't afraid in the slightest.

I hope that Mother's Day was as great for you as it was for me. Sunday was a really nice day at my Mom's and at the park with Kendal's family. Although Ken had to work it was nice to get together and appreciate all the Moms in our life. I had been telling Kendal for weeks that all I really wanted was to have a nice picnic with my babies. But I wanted him to plan in all and I just wanted to go along for the ride. And that is exactly what I received. He ordered Mexican takeout and we went for a picnic to our favorite place (the cemetery). It is so relaxing up there. We always feel so at peace and we were really excited that it is finally warm enough that we can take Elley. I have thought to myself many time lately how many Moms are out there that want to spend their day at the cemetery. When reality sets in I think there are more then I would ever like to count or could count. Although Mother's day is a great day for me it is also a very bittersweet day. Memories and heartache hits home. But I believe my Dalty has sent me many signs lately to let me know he is thinking of me just as much as I think of him. I am truly thankful that I can see, hear and smell the sweet memories of him. I miss him so much and wish he was here. But my Mother's day was wonderful (thanks Ken). Here are some fun pictures of our day.

Finally Another Update

I can't believe I have not posted in so long. Things have been very busy and I just haven't taken the time to post. I have been repainting my whole house. I have been wanting to take on that task for a while but with a tiny preemie it was hard. We finally felt okay about painting with her in the house and three weeks later it is finally finished. I am so happy!! We are now tackling our yard. I am really excited for spring and summer. We are getting the garden ready for planting and we are going to plant more trees. Elley is getting so big I can't believe it. She is now sitting by herself with a little help here and there. She is 14lbs. and full of noise. We get the biggest kick out of all of her silly faces and expressions. She is really starting to get a personality of her own. She is loving to feed herself and thinks if you have something she needs it too. She is also liking all of the yard work because she gets to go outside with us. Tika our dog she also thinks it is great that we all finally get to go outside and hang out. It was crazy because today is the first time that Kendal, Elley and I went to the store as a family. Crazy that that is such a milestone but for us it is. We are so happy that Elley is doing to good. It seems our stress is slowing fading (thank goodness) although we really never stop worring. Here are some pictures of us this past little while. I hope that you all enjoy and are loving the warm weather as much as us.

Dalton and Yiayia

I found this cute picture of Yiayia and Dalton. It still amazes me how much Elley looks like him. He was such a beautiful and fun boy. I truly miss him. Taking Elley to Green River reminded me of all the times that I took Dalton. He thought it was so fun to see Popu and Yiayia. Even though he didn't see them much he always remembered them. He loved to eat Yiayia's Greek spaghetti and cookies. I love you Dalton.

Yiayia and Popu

Elley and I along with my Mom took a short trip to Green River to see my Yiayia and Popu (grandparents). They were really surprised to see us. We decided it would be fun to not let them know that we were coming. Like always Yiayia had lunch cooking. I don't thing I have ever eaten a meal that wasn't just delicious at her house. Even Kendal loves and craves Greek food like the rest of us. He now will request Greek food for dinner at least once a week. It is always nice to see my grandparents. Yiayia was going through drawers and gave me some things that I will cherish. I thought that these pictures were really cute of Elley and them.

Sisters

I just wanted to dedicate a post to my Mom. My Mom lost her sister this week. It has really been very hard for her and her family. I really don't think the age of someone matters it is always hard to say goodbye to someone you love. I think that the grieving process is different for everyone. Just because someone grieves one way that doesn't mean it will work for another. I just want to let my Mom know how much we all love her and we all are here to make her dealing process a little easier. Having sisters is a really great thing in life. It always seems that with me and my sisters no matter what we will always be there for each other. We all go through times when you aren't as close or we don't talk as much. But that doesn't mean that our sisters are far from our hearts. It has always been with us that we can say and do whatever to each other but if anyone else does then you will have three mean girls on your hands. I know that my Mom and her sisters are a lot the same. Through out the years good times and tough times they have stuck up for each other. That is something that sisters always have. I just want to say I love you Mom and always remember our families are waiting for us on the other side. That day that we reunite with them will be the true heaven that we all wish for. For us it seems like forever but for them it is just minutes. I love you and be strong (it has always seemed to help me).

Lots of Firsts

Well this week has been filled with lots of firsts for Miss Elley. I hope that you can see in the pictures she now has pierced ears. Kendal was not to happy on this day but I have been dying to get them done. I asked all of the doctors to make sure it was fine and they all gave me the go ahead. She did cry for a minute but she will never remember. She looks so darling with them.
The next first was Valentine's Day. Yes, Elley got her first Valentine from her Daddy and Grandpa got to deliver it. She is so lucky to have such a great Daddy. He sent her a great big balloon that sings. I wasn't sure if she liked it or if she was going to cry. The beautiful flowers that came with the balloon were for me and they really were gorgeous. Later that night after Kendal got home from work he brought home chocolates and a puppy stuffed animal for Elley. I was also lucky enough to have a steak and shrimp dinner cooked for me and cleaned up. It was so delicious. (Thanks Daddy we love you).
Our cute friend Candace brought over this adorable red and white dress and the matching bow the other day. I had to take a picture because she looked so darn cute. The bow was about the size of her head but she looked to adorable to not snap a picture. I hope that everyone had a wonderful Valentine's like we did.

Super Bowl Sunday

We had a wonderful Superbowl Sunday at Josie and Derek's house this weekend. Like always there was lots and lots of goodies and all of the family. Although I am not that in to football the commercials and game were fun to watch. Elley had a hard time napping due to all of the noise. I think she just wanted to be involved in all of the activities that were going on. Grandpa Brad was having so much fun he fell asleep on the couch (he really isn't a huge football fan). It was nice to visit with everyone. Elley enjoyed talking with Granny Bullock, she had all kinds of stories to tell her. Granny was so happy she even got on the floor to visit back. After a great night of football and fun Josie got her quitar out and showed us all her new skills. She is great!!! Her voice is beautiful and she is a self taught quitarist. I was amazed. I think my Dad loved it the most (Jos learned some old school songs that he really likes). Here are some fun pictures of little Elley and the Family.
